Dr. Yoav Gershon
Medical Adviser
“Better healthcare begins when medical expertise and technology work together to improve lives.”
Dr. Yoav Gershon is a physician and healthcare advisor with more than two decades of experience spanning clinical medicine, occupational health, managed care, and medical insurance compliance. His background combines direct patient care with an understanding of the operational and regulatory considerations that shape healthcare delivery.
Dr. Gershon earned his medical degree from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1998. His clinical training included general surgery, and his subsequent professional experience extended into occupational medicine, where evaluating work-related conditions requires careful assessment of medical findings, functional limitations, and recovery. His career has also encompassed general medical practice, giving him experience across different clinical settings and patient needs.
Alongside his medical work, Dr. Gershon has developed expertise in managed care and medical insurance compliance. These areas have given him perspective on how clinical decisions interact with healthcare administration, documentation, and the processes through which patients access care. His work reflects an understanding of both the physician's responsibilities and the systems within which medical services are delivered.
Dr. Gershon also brings an interest in software development and the application of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to healthcare. This combination of clinical knowledge and technical experience helps him evaluate health technology through the lens of medical relevance, usability, and responsible implementation.
As Chief Medical Advisor at Astravelle, Dr. Gershon contributes a physician's perspective to the company's development of research-informed wellness technology. He helps connect scientific recommendations with practical considerations in healthcare, supporting an approach to personalized guidance that values clinical context, clear communication, and responsible use of technology in everyday life.
